Gillian Richardson

Gill Richardson

I have worked in primary education for over 20 years as a teacher, Deputy Headteacher and Headteacher. I have worked for Hampshire Education Authority, West Sussex, Surrey and the University of Chichester Academy Trust. I believe that all children have the right to learn in a safe and special environment which nurtures them to love learning and enables them to gain the knowledge and understanding they need to be successful in their future. I relish the prospect of supporting the Marlborough and Wellington Federation on this journey.

I have lots of experience of how schools run and what creates and excellent learning environment. To widen my own learning experiences, I have taken on a number of roles in the past including leading English, curriculum development and being interim SENDCO.

I have two grown up children and, in the distant past, completed a joint honours degree in Drama and English. I am enthusiastic about all aspects of drama and am a member of local amateur drama groups, where I act and direct. I enjoy travelling, reading and being with my family.

I really enjoy my role as a Governor in the Wellington and Marlborough Federation. It is a pleasure to be working with Ms Webb and the rest of the governing body to support the staff achieve the best for all our pupils.
